Our Profile

TPT is the trading name of Cambridge Patents Limited, which was founded in May 2003 by Roger Tolfree, a former Intellectual Property Manager of The General Electric Company where he was responsible for Policy and Strategy.

TPT's aim is to make this high level industrial management experience available to the many start-up businesses in Cambridge, England, and surrounding areas. However, TPT's business formula has attracted work from clients worldwide including major research and manufacturing businesses operating in diverse technical fields. We have specialist expertise in electronics and telecommunications.

Qualifications: European Patent Attorney, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents, European Trade Mark Attorney, Member of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, Diploma in Intellectual Property Litigation, Birkbeck College UK Higher Courts Litigation Certificate.

Graduated in Physics at Liverpool University in 1968. Trained and qualified as a Patent Attorney in private practice in London. Experienced in protecting inventions across a broad spectrum of technologies. Worked as an in-house Patent and Trade Mark Attorney for Marconi from 1978 to 2003 with special responsibilities for Trade Marks, disputes, litigation and contractual issues. Awarded the UK Higher Courts Litigator Certificate in 2001. Represented the United Kingdom Government on issues relating to patents and telecommunication standards.

Qualifications: European Patent Attorney, Registered UK Patent Attorney Adam obtained a Masters degree in Material Science with Chemistry from the University of Nottingham.

Adam has worked in private practice for ten years assisting a range of clients from lone inventors and start up-companies to large corporations. He has experience of drafting and prosecuting UK & European patent applications in a range of technologies including mechanical devices, offshore structures,   aerospace, electronic devices and communication systems; military technologies, medical and implantable medical devices, diagnostic medical devices, organic glasses, oilfield drilling systems and corrosion inhibitor formulations.

Adam also works with Clients to assist with the protection of design rights and Trade Marks.
